We're here as pupils of the Charters Towers High,
Our thoughts of the School shall never never die,
Whether or not we have honours gained;
Or trophies by us have been attained.
From the time we are here to the time we are old,
We learn there is more to be desired than gold.
We learn to be honourable, gracious and true,
To face our unknown future with courage too,
A lasting, happy story of the past school days is told
Of the white and maroon which our hearts always hold.
Refrain-
In this School in Australia, land of the free,
We put away such things as proud vanity.
So keep marching, keep marching to the shining goal ahead
Making sure it is the right road on which we choose to tread.
To the School, to the School, to the School of our own
We shout aloud the colours of the white and maroon.
When I am old and have lived my life long,
Happy notes shall return of my old school song.
The joys of to-day will be folded away,
Laden with mem'ries of youth's happy days.
So let's pull out weight and all sing together
To help us remember our school days forever
Raising the School name high us in the sky
For ever and for ever the Charters Towers High.
These lasting happy days of our school life we have told
Shall always be written in our mem'ries in gold.
Refrain-
